Whyred and other Swedish obsessions

My most recent endeavor in fashion recently is Swedish clothing brands. So maybe it’s not completely recent since I have been loving Swedish blogger Elin Kling’s blog for 2 years but I had not known that here were so many great Swedish brands that fell into the kind of pieces I love : minimalist basics. Brands including Filipa K, HOPE and Whyred create some of the most perfect everyday pieces. I am most impressed right now with Whyred , though , because I just noticed that they have an array of soft , cashmere or wool-blend sweaters that just look so tempting right now since the weather in Monteal is getting colder and colder. And then it happened. I wBlogger’s Wardrobe. Not only do they sell mostly Swedish designer goods but , they have a huge lineup of hand picked bloggers , some of them with amazing minimalist fashion blogs(!). Needless to say , I was exited.

The perfect oversized turtle neck from Whyred , available here

P.s : If you have a minimalist fashion blog let me know in the comments , I would love to check them out.

Luxe Sandy survival kit.

Since some of us will be stuck indoors all week ,  I created the ultimate survival kit for , well, surving Sandy the fancy way. There is no time like storm time to cozy up in cashmere blankets and sweaters.

WeeklyWang: Fall campaign videos.

Just finished watching all the campaign videos for Fall/Winter by Alexander Wang and I’m in awe. The expansion of the brand across different art mediums  is really interesting. Fashion films and interviews are some of my favorite things to watch . I appreciate  seeing the pieces of clothing mingle with a given actor or character to create a full seamless image of the brand and  how the designer should perceive it. These two films I think are astonishing , especially the men’s video because of the soundtrack. The song playing in the back of the video is exactly the kind of music I like to listen to while writing or in the subway, fast paced but somehow smooth.

It’s nice watching these, takes my mind of my week of exams coming up.

Svea Kloosterhof for Used.

Found these photos browsing on fashion gone rogue just now , so glad I just discovered Svea. The light in these pictures is dark but yet so soft and glowy. The lighting also brings out the rich hued pieces in the shoot, it makes monochromatic mustard yellow look demure and wearable. This has absolutely nothing to do with the shoot but I find the model’s name is so beautiful…

Yes I am French

I recently spoke about one of my favorite new designers Yes I am French. I just love the sporty minimalism of her clothes and since she sent me one of her shirts I can assure you that the quality is amazing. The cotton is so soft and well sewn, it’s a nice change for some of the high street stores we are familiar with. I’m so glad we caught the sunset in a schoolyard , the lighting was so perfect. Grey weather is just so appropriate for my fall wardrobe.

Happy Friday !

I was recently made aware of this new online fashion website Uniqinn. They don’t have that many products available , but I found the perfect IPad or MacBook Air cases. They are handmade in Lithuania by COMFY . The wool and leather juxtaposition seems so perfect to me for Fall, the colors fitting perfectly into my current wardrobe. The quality looks amazing too , since it is handmade , using materials like real leather and thick wool. Definitely something I will look into purchasing since my Ipad case is kind of bleak.

These cases are available only here
P.S : I almost forgot about the most important part ! If you share this item on four
of your social media outlets, you can get up to 15% off your purchase.

Grey Sunday

Yesterday was a perfect day for just walking around in cozy sweaters and coats . The sky was a perfect match with the historical buildings in Old Montreal. If you are wondering what I am wearing , it’s all Zara , head to toe. Kind of pathetic but I promise I didn’t do purpose.

All the pictures are taken by Maureen Rouge , check out her Tumblr for more of her work . You won’t be disappointed!
Happy Monday!

W Magazine goes back in time for their November issue.

I really enjoy reading W magazine , I think its because my mom used to read it all the time and as a kid I used to flip through them with her. I have been subscribed for more than a year and honestly , I am never disappointed with any of their editorials or content. As per usual , the photography and styling is exquisite . They also have always made better choices of cover models in my opinion than American Vogue ever did ( don’t get me wrong , I love Vogue too , I just think sometimes their covers are ordinary) . I am thrilled that they picked Rooney Mara and Keira Knightley as cover stars because they are my favorite actresses and both are very talented and dress so well. I now this may sound odd but I was also happy to see that the cover had this matte velvet finish instead of the usual gloss. I wish more mainstream fashion magazines could do this , it’s a nice change!

Check out their website for your daily dose of W and beautiful editorials.
