Stripes At The Museum

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Linen shirt – Piazza Sempione

Pinstripe trousers- ASOS

Black pumps – Zara

I put on my drama face and headed to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts , not only a superb place to pose around while tourists gawk at you uncomfortaly but also , a fine museum, pun intended. I pranced around the marble columns wearing my pin stripe pants from ASOS , which by the way I have been loving recently ,their products have that ideal free shipping/decent quality/good looking balance. I’m planning on living in this soft linen lightness this summer so much in fact that I’ve talked about it before!

Happy weekend , don’t forget to show your mama some love!

White On White

ImageImageImage

It was a beautiful hot day ,so we decided to shoot a little near McGill University. This is possibly the most comfortable outfit I have shown , and I will probably wear it all summer long . After the seemingly never ending winter , it’s so nice to spend the day just out , enjoying the city and being able to drink iced coffee without freezing my fingers. This little skirt/short from Zara is probably my favorite piece right now , very structured without being overwhelming and too “styled” if ya know what I mean.

Skirt/Short: Zara

T-shirt: George (aka Walmart)

Shoes : ASOS Domino

Camisole /H&M

Skirt/Zara

Shoes/ Zara

Sweater/ Foot Locker

Somehow , everytime Maureen and I set up to shoot, it always ends up being really icky , windy and gray out. But as always , it kind of worked in our favor. I insisted on freezing my tush off in a leather strap crepe camisole , my samouraï skirt and near the end I pulled on black sweatshirt because it was indeed freezing. These were taken in Place des Arts , the Montreal equivalent of Lincoln Center in New York. The minimal architecture and sharp angles where one of my favorite places to take pictures ever.

Happy Sunday!

Julia Nobis personifies summer in this latest editorial for Russh magazine . Contrasting beautiful gowns and Céline bejeweled sandals with the rustic with desert like set and her very natural beauty. An undone take on the most loved pieces of the season makes for perfect summer inspiration.

Dancing in Numéro

ImageImageImage

Aymeline Valade almost looks like she’s dancing in these images , the strength in her mouvements make her seem like a poised  ballerina that’s just out of caracter for a second.  The slicked back voluminous hair brings out Aymeline’s bone structure , a more demure take on the wet, slicked back hair I’ve been obssesing about since she walked the Rag and Bone runway with almost -dripping -wet hair. Strong and expressive , a perfect combo like a parisian in New York.

Domino

Image

As you have probably noticed , I am really into sneakers lately . My latest find are the ASOS Domino sneaks , the perfect vintage Nike/Alexander Wang look alike sneakers. I  picture  myself wearing these just a little too much this summer , with anything from jeans to my samouraÏ skirt.

The real dilemma now is , which color to pick?

Zannoti’s

Image

I am sort of over the whole Isabel Marant-like sneaker revolution and I am moving on to these Zanotti’s . Apart from being flat and promoting orthopedic health , they get bonus points because they are nude and go with everything. I kind of wish they where suede though , but this leather is more pratical anyway (dirty suede is gross).

Top it off

Last year , a guy asked me “do you know what a snap-back is?”and  dumbfounded , I responded that I though it was some kind of back-pack , obviously ignorant when it came to menswear ( P.S : if you have as much knowledge on what snap-backs are as I did at the time , it’s the kind of baseball caps that are flat in the front and have snaps in the back) .But since then I have grown to know what they are and maybe ,just maybe ,wear one , even if I hate they way they make men look .Honestly , I am still repelled by snap-backs on men ,so me doing a post on how I like the way they look on women makes me the biggest hypocrite but , whatever. I am not really keen yet on a full-fledge  super colorful cap , it’s still a little too “swag” for me ( pardon my illeteracy , I don’t really know how else to put it). Maybe it’s my constant constant listening to A$AP Rocky’s new album that’s bringing out my tough side , but I am loving the way a  baseball cap looks . It’s the easiest way I can think of to make an otherwise more formal outfit casual . Perfect for summer when the humidity in Montreal turns my hair into an unruly mess , I can just slick back my hair into one of these and pray to look a little like Caroline Brasch.

Happy Sunday!

I really need a small perfect little black leather bag. I like this one from Dylan Kain , the leather looks gorgeous and I am starting to love gold chains. Black and gold is the best color combination don’t you think? I really would not mind Rodriguez.

You can get one here and check out the other bags too , it’s hard to pick just one.

Rooney

With her porcelain complexion and striking stare are on of the reasons that Rooney Mara is my favorite actress. The way she morphed entirely into the skin of The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo’s Lisbeth Salader last year left me in awe , leading me to reading all three books. This is her second time covering Vogue and yet again the photographs are painstakingly beautiful. She has the elegance of old Hollywood toughened by her modernity and edge.Hope she inspire’s you as much as she does me.
